Welcome!

Le Casette: in the mountains near the sea

Just over an hour's walk from Nervi, an extreme offshoot of the Genoese east, the land that houses the "le Casette" is located about 350 meters above sea level, on the left bank of the valley of the Nervi torrent.

Immersed in a chestnut grove , the land, once part of the rural system, was gradually abandoned after the war, until, in 1984, it was purchased by the Scout Group of Nervi to create a special place for Scout activities. For its management, the Nervi I Association was created.

In the land of about 50,000 square meters there are four houses, two used as a refuge - with solar panel lighting, kitchen and wood stove and the essential equipment of pots and pans - a small house intended for tool storage and one for showers, lawns and terraces (strips of dry stone walls, renovated from 2005 following the old-fashioned technique). In summer, these spaces are protected from the sun by lush chestnut trees, which guarantee a mild temperature. It can host tent camps.

The location of the "le Casette" is one of the elements that make it special: just a little more than an hour's walk from the sea, it has all the characteristics of a hilly or low mountain area and can be used as a base for several excursions, even demanding ones. Although close to the city (part of the Municipality of Genoa, whose center can be reached by the urban network serving Nervi), it is absolutely isolated in the woods.
